Original Commentary
I had actually drawn lace on one of those veils, but Miz. Taylor's text bubble covered it up. Nuts.
It seems that Kimberly has quite a bit of stress in her life... and her mother isn't helping one bit.
As you may recall at the end of "The New Guy", we find out Miz Taylor now knows about the wedding and is making it mandatory for Kimberly and her to plan her and Brisbane's wedding... much to everyone's pain. -Isabel
Modern Commentary
So is Ms Taylor doing this as Kimberly's mom or Kimberly's boss?
Both at once. Whatever gives her the most authority at that moment

Original Commentary
I get the feeling a lot of Kimberly's suggestions and actual wants get this treatment...Miz Taylor only hears what she wants to, despite anything Kimberly may say or do. I was going to have her groan in that third panel.. but I figure you can fill that in for her, if you wish. -Isabel
Modern Commentary
Kimberly's usually better about standing up to her mother. But she's not prepared for this. She has limited leverage here; if Kimberly escalated by, for example, threatening to not invite her mother to the wedding, that could get Kimberly and Brisbane both fired

Original Commentary
They are in a conference room... not the main conference room though (the one we've seen in the past, such as the story arc "The Troublesome trouble of Miz Taylor"). So why was it not held in that room? Honestly... my computer can't really handle how big that file is... I'm running kind of low on space, which makes Photoshop run slowly. So... I figured there are a ton of unused rooms in the Lemon Tech, building- why not use one of those? Maybe the main conference room's carpet was being shampooed... or they were using it to hold over stock of orange scent #48. Either way, really. -Isabel
Modern Commentary
I had always wanted to do a story about what happened between Brisbane and his family. If we had come up with a good story for the past and a way to make it matter to the present, perhaps.
Kimberly's family's past is foundational to the comic. Brisbane's family, less so. They're not here so there's not much for them.

Original Commentary
Oh Miz Taylor... you try to think with your heart, but in the end you still think with your wallet. Points for trying though. -Isabel Modern Commentary
Confirmation that Ms Taylor is paying for the wedding!
But man it's hypocritical of her to complain about Brisbane being estranged from his family since she and Kimberly hadn't spoken for years before the start of the comic series.

Original Commentary
After a day like that, the cider just gets in the way. That's what Kimberly likes about Brisbane - he understands her and cares for her - Terrence
Modern Commentary
I'm glad Kimberly understands what her mother is trying to do and takes it in the spirit it's meant.
Because Ms Taylor can get overbearing

Original Commentary
"We don't have to do laundry" has to be one of the best reasons to get married, ever. Anyhow, Brisbane is smart enough not to argue with Kimberly when she's drunk. At least she's drunk on the real stuff, unlike some other characters I could mention - Terrence Modern Commentary
Woo! It's yet another "I love you". This time Kimberly said it first.
I mean, of course they love each other. They're getting married.
Possibly tonight.
- Terrence
