Just imagine how Jake must've been around Ms. Taylor... - Terrence

XD Yes, I'm sure Jake and Miz Taylor had a lust/ hate relationship, Terrence...

Although I'm sure most of her employees end up in hives around her... at least once or twice. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Good news! It's another arc that Isabel wrote to pay off something that I kinda halfway set up.

What was I doing that I wasn't writing? Just resting after introducing Patrick? Isabel had taken over Spare Parts at this point. Was I just concentrating on my day job? - Terrence

Original Commentary

It's possible to move data to new servers without anything going wrong. It's just that if nothing goes wrong, you don't even notice the move. Anyhow, Robert and Jane's schedules don't overlap much, so he gets a lot of time to himself, unfortunately - Terrence

Modern Commentary
There are better tools and, theoretically, they could just move the servers seamlessly. Tell everybody to close out their files by midnight, update the DNS, and users hardly notice that things have changed.

Sometimes I miss the chaos of it. The idea of wrestling with a difficult problem and winning.

But it's also nice when things Just Work - Terrence

innuendo

Original Commentary

Jane is in some kind of storage room near the back... that's the only way she would have the guts to say something like that to Robert both 1. At work and 2. In a ten feet radius of her brother, Jake. Jake, if you remember, hangs out at the Nugget's cafe/ computer land because it's where he works his business out of/ has nothing better to do. Jake knows Robert and Jane are going together.. quite exclusively... but no one wants to know the other's business... -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Yeah, this captures the vibe of Robert and Jane's relationship. He wants lunch dates and commitment and just spending time together.

She wants a night of fun... - Terrence

Original Commentary

I made a big change to this comic that probably won't amount much to anyone... originally Jane had referred to the drama as "girl drama" and "boy drama" but if Spare Parts has taught me anything is that men have relationship problems too. So I changed it. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Doesn't Jane have work drama?

Yes. But that mostly involves 16-year-olds but all the interesting stuff happens at school and by the time she has half the context figured out, they've quit - Terrence

Original Commentary

Does anyone realize that Jane isn't back yet? I'm sure Jake does because his buzz is dying down... you don't want to mess with Jake without (or with, even) his coffee buzz.

I can't recall any other time off hand Jane has told Robert she loved him "on camera" (or "in comic"), so this very well might be the first time Jane "say it first" *bricked*. Not nearly as dramatic as Brisbane and Kimberly's first- but that's the gains and losses of being secondary characters.-Isabel

Modern Commentary
Don't worry about what happens if you run out of things to say to each other.

Just be in comfortable silence together - Terrence

Original Commentary

It wasn't until working on this comic did I realize how unclear I made who's place they were going to actually be hanging out at- but it had to have been Sofia's place- otherwise we wouldn't have seen Brent! I'm sure Emily cooks wonderfully when angry and with her angry most of the time, it's easy to see why a few want to stay in her life... rage muffins are good muffins indeed. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Emily is overestimating how much she's changed David. And how much he's talking to other women and how much she actually likes him... - Terrence
