Original Commentary

So... what was Mr. Taylor doing over at Mrs. Taylor's place?

Mrs. Taylor.

*drum roll*

-Isabel

Modern Commentary
On one hand, Brisbane has shown he knows a little about what's going on. He knows that Ms. Taylor started caring more about her appearance after Mr. Taylor showed up again. He knows that she gets moody when he doesn't show up to meetings.

But perhaps there's a difference between knowing something and knowing something - Terrence

Kimberly sobered up quite nicely, don't you think? She must take after her mother's side. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Life would be easier if they just told Kimberly they were dating, but then they'd need to admit to themselves that they were dating again, and you can't really talk about a thing without putting a label on it and that's a step too bold for Constance or Clarence Taylor right now - Terrence

I just love how sweet and yet so strange this comic is... I really get the feeling Kimberly is a daddy's girl. I don't even think I asked Terrence if she was- I just wrote it that way. Or maybe we did talk about it... but then again, for the longest time, Terrence and I were divided on Kimberly's past... there are parts of it that we still don't agree on (such as past boyfriends and the like). -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Speed dial! That's the precursor to your smartphones' contacts. You could assign a person's number to an unlabelled slot instead of manually dialing. You'd have, like, up to ten slots as I recall it.

Having a name attached to it is an improvement, as is having virtually unlimited space for contacts. But back then, you'd remember peoples' phone numbers. And giving someone a spot on your speed-dial list meant something; nowadays I've got a contact list that's half full of people I'll probably never call. - Terrence

Original Commentary

Brisbane, of course, is in the background, off-panel, and glad that he's not the one who has to negotiate things between Kimberly and her mother - Terrence

Modern Commentary
So, where is Ms Taylor in all this? Back home, presumably. I figure that she was asleep when Kimberly's call came in, Mr. Taylor answered it out of instinct, and rushed over. If Ms. Taylor had any questions, he said it was an overseas investor calling about urgent business. - Terrence

Original Commentary

Don't Brisbane and Kimberly have an answering machine? Probably an old one that Brisbane half-fixed. I'm sure they're better off just having Brisbane take messages by hand anyhow - Terrence

Modern Commentary
Kimberly sobered up quickly, didn't she?

Well, she probably didn't have that much to drink; she's kind of a lightweight. - Terrence
