Original Commentary
...and now I'm writing again. Honestly, I'm really surprised I'm writing YSIF again after all this time. Terrence and I played with a few ideas for what to do next. The original idea was something light hearted featuring some neglected characters (Lola and the Lounge Guys were thrown into the ring... perhaps they will show up again soon), but then I remembered Thanksgiving was coming up, and so I started writing.
This comic also ties up a little plot point that I really wanted finished: I wanted to see those lazy managers punished- a yelling from Miz Taylor wasn't nearly enough. I wanted blood... I wanted people fired. Terrence compromised with me... no one injured... but with unpaid administrative leave. I do have to wonder how many of them will have a job waiting for them when they get back to work. -Isabel
Well, some of them resigned. Some of them had enough vacation days saved up and just went back to work. The ones that didn't were given an extra week off. Some of them tried to take that next Monday off. It wasn't pretty. But we didn't have a good place to mention the various complexities - Terrence Modern Commentary
If we were going more into the business side of things, I'd say that the more popular managers got told that Ms. Taylor was back, as did the ones who helped Brisbane and Kimberly.
The ones who didn't help out, and had underlings who were vengeful and/or ambitious, well, they maybe didn't find out the easy way - Terrence

Original Commentary
I was trying to think of a Midnight tradition that was not Christmas Eve (I know my family's culture is more into Midnight on Christmas Eve, rather than Christmas Day... the 25th was rather boring some Christmas'- but not all cultures or people do up the 24th). I don't think Brisbane is of Mexican decent, despite his tan fuzz. And yes, it wasn't the idea of doing a Midnight dinner that was silly to Kimberly, but the idea of staying up till Midnight on a work night that's silly to Kimberly. Although pumpkin pancakes sound pretty good to me- topped with some Pumpkin pie ice creme (try and get a scoop if you like pumpkin pie- it's rather good) and that sounds like a party to me. -Isabel Modern Commentary
I will point out that Jones Soda has a turkey and gravy flavored soda. I have never been brave enough to try it.

Original Commentary
After the weeks they had, they weren't going to go grocery shopping any time soon. I'm sure that they ended up eating out a lot and, like Ms. Taylor, had to throw out a good chunk of their food. -Terrence
This year we didn't get many trick-or-treaters... actually, we didn't get any. So yes, we still have lots of left over Halloween candy as well. -Isabel Modern Commentary
That list of food was meant to evoke a sort of spring picnic, which is the opposite of your hearty and squash-rich fall meals.
And leftover Halloween candy- Terrence

Original Commentary
Does Sofia have a key? Well, obviously. Or, at the least, she does now. If she did give up her key at one time, I'm sure Brisbane gave her another one out of guilt. That's how Sofia works after all. Terrence had wanted to add in some other business reason (aka, he's too busy losing money backing some insane business venture to visit his only daughter), but even if that was the reason, he would never tell that to Kimberly. Telling her he's broke is a far nicer way of doing things... although, I bet Miz Taylor is a big part of the reason he's staying away this year... too much of a good thing, is a bad thing, but even just enough of Miz Taylor can be volatile. -Isabel Modern Commentary
Sofia's brave, walking in unannounced on a pair of newlyweds.
Kimberly's aware that it's just luck that prevents the timing of this from being much worse. Brisbane is not.

Original Commentary
My, my, Mr. Adams... you're certainly far braver than you would have been in earlier days... and Mrs. Taylor-Adams has become quite more mature as well... Brisbane still has his hand (for the moment). Sofia is probably a better cook now than she was back when she lived with the two, in Kimberly's defense (working as a fry cook can do that, despite itself). Last night, Terrence and I had a short conversation about a "what-if" scenario where if Brisbane (from the very early days of Unlike Minerva) woke up in modern day Brisbane's shoes (next to Kimberly, basically). Terrence thinks he would be very, very, afraid. I personally don't blame him. -Isabel Modern Commentary
That is, of course, Kimberly speaking unattrited in the second panel.
But also, things sure have changed. Nowadays, Nuggets would be open on Thanksgiving for sales. Not only does Christmas get earlier and earlier, but Black Friday does too
