Original Commentary
A new day, a new hairstyle. Personally, I don't know how she can stand to wear it down like that, even in the Fall- being on an island and all, I'm sure things can be a bit humid- but, then, it also snows in some parts of said island, so you can't take much for granted. -Isabel Modern Commentary
Yeah, selling commercial real estate involves paperwork, and trying to figure out what you need to learn in order to sell a building (and not get completely ripped off) is a step too far.

 Tuesday, October 7th 2008 - [1286]The Troublesome Trouble of Kimberly Taylor-Adams (51 of 80)
Original Commentary
Terrence wasn't too sure he liked the role reversal here, with Brisbane thinking of the quick money making scheme with Kimberly not taking him seriously. I told him not to worry, Kimberly is too busy doing everything else to come up with the ideas (I'm sure she would have already come up with one on one of her better weeks). -Isabel Modern Commentary
It's a flawed idea, but not a ridiculous one.

 Wednesday, October 8th 2008 - [1287]The Troublesome Trouble of Kimberly Taylor-Adams (52 of 80)
Original Commentary
In the original script, the door was supposed to be only slightly open. But... um... see, that file only has two layers, one with the door open and one with it closed- but none without the door at all. So the door is either completely opened or closed. Perhaps it needs a brick or something to keep it from swinging open and hurting people... or perhaps I'm just stupid about flattening layers... or both. -Isabel Modern Commentary
This would have been a good time to cut away for a comic or two instead. The way I staged it, it looks like he just vanished, instead of him stepping away because he and Kimberly are trying to do everything everywhere.

Original Commentary
Carbolic acid is the main ingredient in some of the first disinfectants. I spent a decent amount of time researching the active ingredients in things like pine-sol (pine oil), Lysol (alcohol), and a few other such things. I'm still not entirely sure it's the right thing you'd use to mop floors with, but it's plausible enough. -Terrence Modern Commentary
My initial notes for Dan were "this is where he turns from trusted advisor to scheming advisor". This is as close as he gets. Generally with these larger storylines, I make an outline and a checklist try to work things in, but it goes where it goes. I try to wrestle and wrangle it into the shape I had initially envisioned but sometimes conversations turn unexpectedly.

 Friday, October 10th 2008 - [1289]The Troublesome Trouble of Kimberly Taylor-Adams (54 of 80)
Original Commentary
Remember when Dan arranged to have Sales and Marketing's stuff moved over? Well, there was going to be more of that, but it got cut because things were dragging on. What didn't you see? HR not believing that Kimberly was in charge of the company and Dan talking to them, to get Sandra paid, mainly. Anyhow, it's been a week. Things have been happening in the background - Terrence Modern Commentary
Yeah, I kinda wish that the HR stuff had been in-comic or at least that I had spent a panel or two on it. There's always the conflict between mentioning something in passing now versus holding off on it in the hopes that you write something larger that you can use later.

Original Commentary
The argument escalates. Now, while Kimberly was able to get Sandra to replace her (eventually), Brisbane still had to do his old job of organizing things and answering phones. Along with the various fruitless searching, that is - Terrence Modern Commentary
Note that they are back in Ms. Taylor's office and Dan has left. He's seen enough Taylor fights to know when it's time to go do something else.

 Sunday, October 12th 2008 - [1291]The Troublesome Trouble of Kimberly Taylor-Adams (56 of 80)
Original Commentary
Is Kimberly acting like her mother? A bit. Neither of them has much faith in the employees. Kimberly is kinda justified, since there are a decent number of people taking days off. Perhaps Ms. Taylor had a similar incident when she first took control. So how bad is the staffing situation? That's been left a bit vague. The company is functional. Some departments are kinda hurting. Most of the people who took time off had vacation days coming to them, but Ms. Taylor wouldn't let them take it. A few of them didn't have vacation time but figured they could get away with it - Terrence Modern Commentary
I mean, she's being mean but I don't think she's wrong. Brisbane trusts Dan, but Brisbane trusts everybody...
