 Monday, April 28th 2008 - [1142] Sofia's relationship status (1 of 7)
Original Commentary
Terrence originally was going to write one of two different story arcs he has thought up, but he is rather written out from his last wonderful arc. So, I'm giving him a week off with a little info on just what happened to a few other elements behind the scenes of the wedding...
Would Emily have someone locked up in her apartment..? Well, Sofia isn't putting it past her, and neither do I. -Isabel Modern Commentary
I will say that writing Mr and Ms Taylor took more out of me. I was hoping to have gotten ahead on things, since there were a number of post-wedding storylines to follow up on.
But Emily will fixate on her Favorite Person and if that's not you right now, she's probably not going to go out of her way to hang out.

Jane is right: Patrick has money, looks and well, money. So what is keeping her back? (Or perhaps it's "who" and not "what")...? -Isabel Modern Commentary
Patrick is about six years older than Sofia. He's closer to her age than Dr. Paul was.

Personally, I greatly enjoy ketchup on eggs (as long as they are scrambled) myself, but Terrence looks at me like I'm a space alien whenever I do it. So of course Sofia, the poor conflicted girl she is, would love it and yet hate herself for loving it.-Isabel Modern Commentary
This "research" was done back in the Unlike Minerva days when Sofia was trying to become a princess.
She doesn't talk about that phase when she can help it, but she learned a thing or two apparently.

So what did happen between Jake and Miz Taylor? I don't think Terrence has ever said... I'm not even sure he knows, actually. I recall Jake telling a story where Miz Taylor tried to make him do something insanely impossible back when he worked in the I.T department of Lemon tech. alongside Robert, which he told quite angrily. Chances are, that has something to do with it. -Isabel
Actually, Jake took a week off "sick" when City of HeroesThe Final Battle Adventure Online Expansion Pack came out. Then he came back and was fired. His general attitude didn't help either. It's one of those things where there are a dozen different stories and they're probably all true - Terrence Modern Commentary
Yeah, there were a lot of reasons why Jake got fired...

So, apparently Brents come in purple, too. Or that's why they're washing her off. They're the kind of critters that get into hair dye. Or printer ink. Or beet juice - Terrence Modern Commentary
Yeah, Dr. Paul's "I'm going to reject this woman but try keeping her in my general orbit and away from other men" routine isn't a great look.
I'm pretty sure we called that color of brant "eggplant". But I'm sure that there are brant fancier forums where they argue forever over whether specific ones are eggplant or beetroot colored.

So, why are the cages in the back always empty? Because Isabel doesn't like drawing a whole bunch of animals in the backgrounds each time. It'd be odd if they were drawn into the backgrounds permanently, because the vet's kennels would be full of animals that never moved. And if we saw the same room four months later, it'd have the exact same animals in it. You'd have to wonder where the owners were and why they hadn't picked them up, you know, ever - Terrence Modern Commentary
I like how Isabel approached this moment. Something might happen between Sofia and Patrick. But we don't see that. We see Sofia talking about what might happen to her friends.
It's less hesitant this way

 Sunday, May 4th 2008 - [1148] Sofia's relationship status (7 of 7)
Original Commentary
Last night Terrence and I were talking about the characters and their motivations. Sofia's motivation toward the doctor at this point is revenge/ making his life miserable, as he rejected Sofia. Although deep down, I'm sure Sofia's strong hate for him is just her love for him, only confused.
Dr. Paul's motivation in all this is just as complicated... I'm sure in the back of his mind, he either assumed Sofia would wait for him forever or that if they were truly meant to be, she would wait for him. As such, he felt semi-empowered by this and took his time starting a relationship. Unfortunately, Sofia decided not to wait after being rejected by him, and after her stint with Caleb, he was upset, a lot at Sofia and a little at himself. I'm sure a lot of his speech from "Sofia's many talents" could easily apply to him... and the more time he spends with her, the more he's realizing what a mistake he's made... and has no idea how to fix things. The two of them still have feelings, that seem to have mutated to the point of confusion for the two. -Isabel Modern Commentary
That poor, poor brant.
Had to get a bath and listen to Sofia and Dr. Paul get snippy at each other.
