I really like how Brisbane came out in that third panel. The look of sheer fear on his face is just so perfect and really shows how he's feeling. So does Brisbane really need to be worried about Ms. Taylor? Well, considering that he's her right-hand lackey, he's going to have to keep a poker face about this. And well, if you had Brisbane's poker face, you'd be nervous too - Isabel Modern Commentary
I mean, did they break up?
I don't think either of them know right now and neither Brisbane nor Kimberly are willing to say it first.
Their relationship is in an uncertain state and both of them hope that the other hasn't dumped them and will be looking for signs to make sure. But even changing their Facebook status to "it's complicated" would be too dangerous a step for either of them to take on their own right now.- Terrence Tuesday, November 22nd 2005 - [453]Date-night in (24 of 34)

Yes, Brisbane didn't think of that. But he had a lot of other things to think about. Ms. Taylor and Kimberly don't talk much, but it's still a job because he was going out with Kimberly. In the original script, Robert's line in the last panel was thought, but it works better spoken - Terrence Modern Commentary
Note the box in the background. Robert isn't getting his seven dollars worth here.

It was tempting to start the "week" on Wendesday and imply that the previous comics had taken place on Tuesday night. But that could be confusing and people would assume that Brisbane wore the same clothes for the first three days of the week. It wouldn't be a bad assumption, I mean, he left most of his clothes behind. But the follow-up question is "If he wore the same thing until Wednesday, why'd he switch on Thursday?" and that just distracts people. As a side note, I really like the way Ms. Taylor looks on Wendesday - Terrence Modern Commentary
Here he is dressing shabbily, so soon after Kimberly pulled the same stunt. I'm surprised it's taken Ms. Taylor this long to say something.

Ah, yes. The dual relationship. And Brisbane's nerves - he never could keep a secret under pressure. Not much else to add without giving much away - Terrence Modern Commentary
Ms. Taylor is being considerably nicer here than she would be in her later appearances. She's fired people for less. - Terrence Friday, November 25th 2005 - [456]Date-night in (27 of 34)
Original Commentary
Ms. Taylor is many things, but she is not quick to anger or action. Better to do the right thing later than do the wrong thing immediately.
Note the parallel lines in Ms. Taylor's speech bubbles. First time we've done that where the lines aren't strictly vertical or horizontal. The trick is to draw a line, copy it, and move the copy down a little, that way they're both at the same angle. There was another comic a few days back that had similar effect, except the lines were drawn freehand and obviously converge - Terrence Modern Commentary
Yeah, later-YSiF Ms. Taylor would definitely have fired Brisbane right here.
Of course, later-YSiF Ms. Taylor is also dealing with her own health issues and is under threat of being replaced. - Terrence Sunday, November 27th 2005 - [457]Date-night in (28 of 34)

One of the main things to remember about all the advice Miz Taylor may give Brisbane about her daughter is that this advice is coming from knowledge on Kimberly that came from when she was about 9 or 10. And while Kimberly may have grown and change; for everything that's changed there are things that stayed the same. -Isabel Modern Commentary
Ms. Taylor likes to think she knows Kimberly, despite the fact that they haven't spoken in years.
They didn't keep in touch. She kinda knew who Kimberly used to be, but the years have changed her.
Much like Emily.
