Original Commentary
Oddly, no, we weren't planning this when we said Kimberly was in Sales & Marketing. But it works out very well. When I was coloring this, she had on a different outfit, originally, because I thought this comic was set next morning. And Kimberly's final line was originally "Casual Friday is Go", but that was far too cool - Terrence
Modern Commentary
Kimberly sure is defiant lately. She's causing trouble for Emily. She's flouting her mom's company's rules.
Of course, she doesn't really have a choice because her blazer got inked, but she's enjoying this more than you might hope.

Original Commentary
Originally, Kimberly's line was something along the lines of "The guys on the bus would like that too much". But we've given her something purposefully vague. It's very nice seeing Kimberly be crafty again - Terrence
This is the only comic we could've done with Brisbane blatantly checking out Kimberly and him not looking like a pervert. That wasn't my intention, but it worked out - Isabel.
Modern Commentary
Our comics were funded by donations, back in the day. One of the donation tiers was that You Say it First would run five days a week. It was always a close thing, which meant that we didn't know if we'd need this Tuesday comic until very late on Sunday night.
If we were to do that again, we'd make sure to have a few weeks of lead time so that we could add or remove comics from the schedule with a bit of forethought instead of scrambling at the last minute.
I'm not sure if this was specifically written so that it could be cut if we were running three days a week. It's a good comic and I like it, but it's not strictly necessary.
So, how much trouble does Kimberly feel like biting off? Yeah, I wouldn't trust her either if I were Brisbane.- Terrence

Original Commentary
I keep a file of miscellaneous names on hand. Most of them are references to various things. Timothy Chase is one of the less obscure ones and was chosen because everything else in the file was nicknames, and I wouldn't have had interoffice mail sent to "Charlie Mackintosh", or what have you. And the song is "The Incredible Journey of Timothy Chase", by Tomorrow. They only have one album, and it's quite worth picking up - Terrence
Modern Commentary
Seriously, The Incredible Journey of Timothy Chase is a good song and you ought to listen to it.
Charlie Mackintosh is from Blossom Toes' Look At Me I'm You.
Also, these songs are definitely Terrence Music, so I must've tagged in on this storyline. - Terrence

Original Commentary
And the Mini-Golf vending machine of soday-doom returns! With all the time I took on it, it better have. Kimberly seems to only eat salads when we see her eat at work. It's not necessarily because she's a rabbit and thus only eats greens, but it throws off the people around her and gives them a false sense of security. Think about it... most females who eat only salads around co-workers do it because they don't want to see gluttonous or are on a "diet"(or have a problem only fiber can fix). From my own experiences, women who eat only salad for lunch every fricking day really care what others think of them and want others' approval (on a subconscious level, of course). Kimberly, on the other hand, likes the false sense of security - Isabel Modern Commentary
We had initially envisioned Lemon Technology as having a few vice presidents or such. It ended up just having a few department heads reporting directly to Ms. Taylor.
I think Brisbane is just as nervous about eating in the executive lounge. Kimberly might be in charge of Sales and Marketing, but Brisbane is just a mail guy. - Terrence

Original Commentary
Ms. Taylor knows Kimberly's weak point - Brisbane - Terrence
Modern Commentary
Yeah, Kimberly's plan depends on Ms. Taylor playing fair.
Ms. Taylor does not play fair.
But Kimberly does indeed have unfocused anger. Her pride has been hurt; her online business collapsed and now she has to work for her mom. Her attempts to seduce Brisbane have been unsuccessful. She's been looking for a fight and has finally almost found one. - Terrence
 Sunday, August 7th 2005 - [369]Casual Warfare (12 of 12)
Original Commentary
I really like how this comic turned out. Ms. Taylor's expression subtly changes between the second and third panels. And while Kimberly might have been able to get the credit card, she would've definitely gotten the warning - Terrence Modern Commentary
I remember we had a long discussion about the brand name of the store. JB Copper is a mid-range department store that's not entirely dissimilar from JCPenney. I'm always tempted to just choose a real brand name to get the point across.
But then, doing it the other way is why we have Final Battle Adventure Online.
Neither Brisbane nor Kimberly are making great money here. I'm not sure if Kimberly could've afforded a new business suit. She might have saved some of the money from her online sales, but expenses always come up... - Terrence
