Brisbane
Kimberly
Ms. Taylor

Original Commentary
Most of the workers for the departments are still there. I've tried to avoid giving much details about who's out, simply because that's not what this is about. If there's too much detail, I'm more likely to get parts of it wrong and distract people from the story I'm trying to tell - Terrence

Modern Commentary
So this is why it had to have a nine-day timeline, so that Ms. Taylor could be here for the "next Friday" that Kimberly had rescheduled that delivery for.

Also, note that Product Delivery isn't mentioned. Ms. Taylor would rather talk to an angry Kimberly than to Dan. - Terrence

Brisbane
Kimberly

Angry

Original Commentary
Yes, they get lunch because they came in early because of the shipment that got rescheduled. It turns out that detail didn't make it into the comic. I suppose it's not too big a surprise, though - Terrence

Modern Commentary
It's funny how this ends not with Brisbane and Kimberly saving the company, but with Kimberly yelling at her mom. - Terrence

Brisbane
Kimberly
Ms. Taylor
Angry

Original Commentary
Originally, I had tried to write a version of this sequence where Ms. Taylor lost her temper. She didn't. In fact, she completely dominated the conversation and bested Brisbane and Kimberly. That got scrapped because she had done that about a week ago, and Kimberly was charging in with a full head of steam. If Kimberly didn't come back aggressively, there'd be no point to her coming back at all. That said, Ms. Taylor's first line was originally from that version; I think that was all I kept - Terrence

Modern Commentary
I wish I had kept the original drafts of the script, but also I wish I had tightened up Kimberly's line in the last panel. - Terrence

Presentation
Ms. Taylor

Original Commentary
Brisbane spends a lot of time being helpful but goofy. When he and Kimberly work together, he's surprisingly competent. I was going for "standing in the background, has everything ready for her as soon as she realizes she needs it". Unfortunately, this is the best situation I could come up with - Terrence

Modern Commentary
"Please save your questions until the end" is...I dunno, too light-hearted. Kimberly enjoys talking down to her mother who has very much earned it.

But of course Brisbane did this because he anticipated that Kimberly would need it. One of the things that I wish I had done more with is that he's actually really good at this whole administrative assistant thing, especially when he's assisting Kimberly. - Terrence

Original Commentary
...you probably couldn't tell that Brisbane was turning on the lights again... either that, or he's just using a clicking device for his own amusement and our own confusion. Either way, mostly.

I'm sure Terrence will have more commentary about this comic once he gets the chance to write it, so check back in on it in a few days... but this has been quite an arc. At 80 comics, it is the longest story arc either of us have done, ever. Quite a bit has happened in this arc, with many still on going story lines and questions to be answered. Terrence wrote this entire arc, save maybe a filler week I may have done, I forget honestly. He did a wonderful job and I for one am quite proud of him. But if he ever does a huge arc again without writing the ending which results in putting my production comic on hold, I'm going to go nuts. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Isabel might not have written much of the comic, but she helped me craft lines and steered me away from any number of bad ideas when I was writing this. You have to go through the bad ideas to get to the good ones sometimes.

The most important thing about this ending is that it redirects Ms. Taylor's anger. Because one thing this storyline made clear is that there will eventually be a showdown between Kimberly and her mother, and one of them will no longer work here when that is over, and that would almost certainly be where the comic ends - Terrence
