Patrick certainly jumps to the point, doesn't he? He can get the job done. Of course, if Sofia's stammering gets them anywhere (and in any good time) is up for debate. -Isabel Modern Commentary
Sofia is, of course, embarassed that she doesn't have a car.
There's a lot of that in this comic; Hippedown has a robust public transit system and you can get around well enough without a car. But what's she supposed to do, say "You can't walk me to my car; I'm too poor to have one".
She doesn't need to be embarassed about her situation, but she is

I can't help but love Patrick's look in panel one... partly confused, partly condescending, all awesome. I'm sure he is somewhat talking down to Sofia...
Everyone's feelings start getting stepped on by panel three... each insulted for their own reasons, Sofia's are pretty obvious, but Patrick's are not so much so... basically he's insulted more over her not just flat out saying yes (and instead asking him all these questions and wondering what his intentions are... don't say I blame her, though). -Isabel Modern Commentary
Of course it was Ms. Taylor. Jane doesn't know anybody who attends business events. Emily would've forgotten to tell Sofia. Kimberly would've been less sneaky and either meaner or nicer, depending on how she was feeling at the time

Original Commentary
Patrick might be a bit of a jerk, but dang, he is rather good at it... I think if Charles was half as charming, him and Joy would have several children by now (fortunately for Tipper, he's a doof). But, back to this comic...
If Patrick seems to have something up his sleeve in all this... well, let's just say he's no more innocent that Miz Taylor in all this (but, unlike her, his motives are more clear). -Isabel Modern Commentary
I mean, Sofia should've gone for this because free rich-people food.
Except she'd have to do her hair and makeup, and does she have an appropriately fancy dress any more?
