Original Commentary

This was the original script:

Mon
M- Look, Mr.Windsor, do you or do you want to go out with Sofia?
P- Yes, I do-
M- Here is her phone number and address. I expect to hear from you tomorrow for the tickets.
P- And if she says no?

M- Ask what you can get if she says yes.
P- You're right... eh, thank you, Mrs. Taylor. Was there anything else you wanted to talk about?
M- No, but-
P- Then I'm going to get to lunch then.

M- Well, I was going to offer him a bonus... I don't even want to think about what he thinks he can get out of Sofia. ... Oh well, she's not my daughter, anyway.

So close and yet so different. I added a few things to show 1. Patrick was keeping tabs on Sofia, 2. He can be polite, sometimes and 3. Miz Taylor has a strange sense of humor. I think it makes for a better comic overall, or at least I hope it does. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Man, I wish we had used "All's fair in love and business" as a tagline. That was a good line.

We never did figure out how to promote the comic. We just hoped that as long as we kept doing it, the right people would find it. I don't think we came up with much better than "it's a story about these guys"... - Terrence

Original Commentary

The original drawing for this thing is a mess. In panel one Sofia is a good inch above Jane... I think I was going to have her in the little "cooking wall" and for some reason it always makes her look taller... but decided against it. But it was enough to cause problems. But, it all worked out and now she is the right size, for Sofia anyway. The script for this comic got chopped and relocated, with Sofia's second line in panel one belonging in panel two... but I think it flows better this way. I ended up adding in Patrick's "About time" line last minute. Adds just a dash of awesome, which he needs every now and again. -Isabel

I feel kind of bad for Sofia... this is exactly what she never wanted to happen (to have Patrick see her, not only at her place of work, but with the hair net on...). But there's health codes for you - Isabel

So yeah, he'd been asking the waitresses to let Sofia know that he wanted to talk to her. They didn't. They figured that he was some weirdo.
