You can tell because (a) she's called Miz Taylor rather than Ms Taylor and (b) the first comic actually does something rather than just setting the scene. I would've had it just be Ms Taylor calling Brisbane in to "talk about something" and he's frightened about what it could be. - Terrence

I don't think Miz Taylor is a bad person who enjoys lying... but I get the feeling she isn't above stretching the truth. It helps her sleep at night, at the least. -Isabel

We've never been consistent about whether or not you can hear the other side of the phone call. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. We use whatever works best for the comic.

That said, I'm going to declare that she has a small earpiece hidden in her hair, which is why she can hear Patrick's lines and you can't. - Terrence

I cannot help but adore this comic... it gives Patrick a lot of character- he's just a bit sneaky and conniving- one of the many reasons why Miz Taylor was quick to recruit him into Lemon Tech. I'm sure he also knows he's devilishly handsome and as such can get away with far more with his female boss than he would if he was working with his father. Just saying... -Isabel
