Original Commentary
The hardest part was figuring out what to have Patrick give them. It was "fancy kitchen item" for the longest time. I suppose that regular fruit dehydrators aren't that expensive. He got them a special one. In the original draft, it was mentioned that the Lounge Guys got them a model train, a large bag of peanuts, and a second model train which was a different scale than the first one - Terrence Modern Commentary
You can get a food dehydrator for like forty bucks these days, and I don't imagine that the technology has changed much in the last twenty years.
The thing about appliances - any of them - is that you can always spend more money on them if you want. You can also spend a little less sometimes; once we thought we were getting a really good deal on an airbrush kit since it was $30 cheaper than the others. That was because it didn't come with a compressor, which was $50 if you buy it separately...

Original Commentary
Finally, the last name is officially revealed. I know it had been mentioned in the commentary a week or two ago, but this is the official one. Yes, this is the kind of conversation you'd think they'd have before they got married. Why are they talking about it now? I hadn't written it then. Besides, Kimberly is still settling into the new name - Terrence Modern Commentary
As a relic of this, I'm pretty sure we've called their daughter "Nicole Taylor-Adams" once or twice. Nicole uses the Taylor when she's around Kimberly's parents or dealing with the company. Or when she's feeling fancy.

Original Commentary
Brisbane is definitely on to something there... compared to a lot of other women's lives (just look at the housewives on Namir Deiter lane, for example) her's is actually quite normal- she at least still talks to all her family. -Isabel Modern Commentary
Brisbane's right, it isn't that complicated. But Kimberly wants to keep Taylor in her name.
As I may have mentioned before, when we got married in Florida, either of us could have changed any part of our name. I could have taken her last name, changed my first name, or we could have both gone with something entirely different.
We didn't; we opted for the usual wife-takes-husband's-surname thing. But we had the option.

Original Commentary
The first line was originally "If I was Kimberly Adams, socially, what if Robert came over?". I figure this way, it explains things better, and makes it a bit more obvious that they're just newlyweds having fun with the idea - Terrence Modern Commentary
The stage directions for this comic are, in their entirety, "[They're joking with each other]".
I'm glad to work with someone who understands my characters better than I do

Original Commentary
Madamoiselle DuPree, yes. This time it was after Bangladesh Dupree, from Girl Genius. Half an hour before this comic went up, I realized that I had mentioned Simon Dupree (name taken from Simon Dupree and the Big Sound) a few months back and tried to come up with a better name. I didn't, of course, which is why the name stayed - Terrence Modern Commentary
Eh. I like seeing the two of them just domestically joke around, but I probably would have cut this one (and the next) if we weren't running seven days a week

Original Commentary
Terrence and I had a little argument about the last few comics, I had no idea where it was going, and where they actually were when these were all taken place (Terrence claims I always do a good job without them, but sometimes, as in this case, I had no idea what he was thinking).
In yesterday's comic, Terrence originally wanted Kimberly to be wearing a scarf and sun glasses when mentioning her alter-ego. However, it makes no sense to have this happen when they are sitting in the middle of the kitchen writing thank you letters (unless Kimberly is in fact really disorganized and keeps her accessories by the Tupperware). We had a little chat about this, and the sun glasses and scarf were nixed. I however, decided to add a bit of unscripted foreplay in panel three, for, as I told Terrence, "There really is only one way I personally can see where this conversation was going". And, well, now you all know too. -Isabel Modern Commentary
I can only assume that there was some alter-ego-related hanky-panky going on between this comic and the last, because even Brisbane is smart enough to know that his vaudeville-related pseudonyms will stop him from getting laid.
But also, that first panel? I'm sure Isabel said something like "I like the comics, but wouldn't they have figured this out before the wedding?" and I had to justify this at least a little.

Original Commentary
Brisbane and his parents is one of those stories yet untold. And it will probably stay that way. I mean, there's got to be a reason why they didn't go to their son's wedding, but right now they just don't fit into You Say it First. That's why they signed the card, but didn't actually write anything in it. So, did Sydney pressure them into signing? Did he just sign the card they bought so he wouldn't have to buy one himself? Well, perhaps. -Terrence
Even if it's not his card, but it IS his check... and that's all Kimberly sees... -Isabel Modern Commentary
Brisbane would rather leave the card unopened than risk dealing with that it might (or might not) say...
