Original Commentary
If Terrence goes out and is extremely late I call him up to make sure he isn't hurt or anything... I'm kind of crazy paranoid like that about my poor dear. Brisbane is the same way, only he's afraid that Kimberly is worried about him, while Kimberly doesn't worry as much. Ha ha, we're both so neurotic. -Isabel
Modern Commentary
Brisbane seemed fine on the way home? Well, it takes a moment to process things and sometimes things don't hit until you get to a place where you can let down your guard.- Terrence Tuesday, March 20th 2007 - [819]Lola's secret (8 of 12)
Original Commentary
Terrence was very specific with this comic's actions, which I am thankful for... when he writes, chances are he won't give them, which can sometimes be a problem. But, because he did... I feel I did almost exactly what he was looking for, or a close version of it, anyway. -Isabel
Modern Commentary
Brisbane feels comfortable being vulnerable around Kimberly and she's able to help him feel better. He's opened up to her before, but it's still nice to see them being emotionally open

Original Commentary
Originally, this arc was going to last a week - that's why it's called "Lola's Secret" (which isn't much to do with the action going on right now). I got thinking that Brisbane wasn't done reacting. Character shows when you put people under pressure and this is Brisbane's character. He's not a tough guy. He's not a hero. He's vulnerable sometimes, and he's not afraid to show it around Kimberly. That's why they're sitting like that. It's emotionally intimate. I considered having Kimberly freak out, but it didn't seem right. I'm sure she had things stolen from her booth so the shock wouldn't be as great for her. But having Brisbane just not feel right and come to Kimberly for comfort worked. And it shows how their relationship has developed. When I wrote the last panel, I was wondering if it was a bit too old-Kimberly. But it is an honest question. There's a lot of paperwork involved if you need to replace all your ID, I'm sure - Terrence
Modern Commentary
Brisbane didn't do a lot; he just kinda stood there while Lola and the shopkeeper actually did the work. But it happened TO him.

Original Commentary
Dun dun dun!
Anyhow, there was about thirty seconds I was considering putting this on the front page of the paper. Then I realized that there's no way that would ever be a front-page headline unless the robber was, I don't know, a president or Paris Hilton or something. And in that case, there'd be no way that Lola's picture would be under the headline - Terrence Modern Commentary
That's probably page B5 or something. Back when papers had a proper local section...
Why is he reading the paper with the lights off? Because he can

Original Commentary
Lola's adoped children were last seen here. Anyhow, how's Lola taking all of this? Pretty well. There was a problem and she solved it by throwing somebody around. Much better than that recurring sink problem in room 104 that she's been avoiding for the last month - Terrence
Modern Commentary
And Jerry finally turned the lights on!
I guess Not Replacing Burnt Out Bulbs In A Timely Fashion runs in the family

Original Commentary
No punchline. After all that happened, it just didn't seem appropriate - Terrence Modern Commentary
I think I had intended for Brisbane to be a little more guarded when in public after this. I don't think we had him in public much, actually.
