Original Commentary

No recap. I've recapped a large number of times and I feel there's a point where it detracts from the comic. Why is Kimberly tired and angry? Well, her mother for one thing. Anyhow, this comic is as much to set things up for the future as anything else. You'll see, sooner or later - Terrence

Modern Commentary
Life happens all at once. Since this is a big, long storyline Sofia gets mentioned here, just to remind folks that she's around now. Otherwise she'd be out-of-focus for four months, which felt like forever back then. - Terrence

Original Commentary

It seems all the men in the YSIF universe are very unlucky in love (and all the women are over worked) Except for David. He's a bit too lucky (and a bit oblivious to the ladies who like him). -Isabel

Modern Commentary
And more small talk that recaps the main relationships in the comic.

I like the comic and I strongly suspect that Isabel gave it that final panel that makes it work. - Terrence

Original Commentary

Terrence's original plan was for Kimberly to be really snippy with Brisbane right off the bat. But I think if anything she still has a low boiling point when it comes to Brisbane. Whether or not that changes in the course of arc is still up the air. So what is that paper work under Kimberly's arms? As far as I know just work from work, I don't think Terrence will be brining it to play (Kimberly seems to type to work 18 hours a day, which isn't helping her stress situation). The "Paper airplane" is in reference to this comic. I wish them luck. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
He tries to distract himself. She fixates on the problem at hand. Opposites attract. - Terrence

Original Commentary

Terrence has been writing the bulk of this story arc, as some of you may know. And as others of you may know, he's also battling an ear infection, which leaves times for work and recuperating (I have no idea how he's getting both done). Well, he needed some bonus rest, so I came up with a comic that would move things a bit, but also not dramatically change what's going on in the story.

This comic was actually not drawn on my traditional print out template. I ran out and didn't want to wake up Terrence with it's loud clunking. So, I drew these panels on a blank page (from my new super sketch book) and put them together digitally. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
At the risk of stating the obvious, Brisbane has realized that Kimberly wasn't listening and is going more and more ridiculous until she calls him on it. - Terrence

Original Commentary

When I was writing this, I had completely forgotten about the previous comic, which Isabel wrote. This one flows a little better from the one before that. Those of you who are bothered by this can imagine that there's a panel or two somewhere in which Kimberly says she isn't feeling well and goes to her room. I was considering giving her a line in the first panel explaining this, but she would've explained it before she got to her room, not when she was already there. I don't know why I worry about that minor detail, especially considering what's happening in today's ND - Terrence

I had not meant to draw Kimberly in her coat, but for some reason I drew it in there anyway - Isabel

Modern Commentary
That transition from the previous comics, though.

That's one of the things I do; usually there's very little time between one comic and the next. You end up seeing every word of a conversation. - Terrence

Original Commentary

How do we know Kimberly is there early? Because the comic runs on Sunday. Yes, it's lame meta-humor, but I like it. The pantsuit really does make her look older. Anyhow, I hope the exposition isn't too much and that you enjoy today's Big Plot Reveal. And Isabel wants to mention that she forgot both characters' ties in various panels and had to draw them in digitally - Terrence

Modern Commentary
The black pantsuit! Every time I did one of these Business Adventure storylines, I'd try to get Kimberly back into that outfit.

It seldom happened.

Whatever plan Kimberly had, it just got torpedoed by this new information... - Terrence
