We were going somewhere with this. This was going to set up a storyline where...I don't remember exactly. They got locked out of one of the bedrooms or lost a key and, after some trouble, it was revealed that both doors were keyed the same and either one of them could unlock the other's door if they had to.
That never happened. We never found a place for that storyline. I'm not sure if the punchline was that Lola knew best or that she was too lazy to get differently-keyed locks. - Terrence

One part "this thing is really happening", four parts "Oh, wow, this really could all fall apart if things go wrong; already, we're having disagreements over a stupid clock/radio. I hope that joke about sharing a bedroom didn't make things weird."
Suddenly, the clock/radio doesn't seem that important and neither of them wants to restart the argument.- Terrence

Upstairs? Y'know, I had always envisioned the two-bedroom apartment being a floor or two above their old place. I'm not sure that I ever told Isabel, and I'm not sure we ever officially say the building has a second floor.
Stairs are kind of a hassle. Both for the characters and for the artist.
