Original Commentary
Not too much commentary for this one...Sofia's last line in panel one was moved from two, and Kimberly's last line from panel two was moved from three in the name of space. The term vaudevillian is an interesting one... it really does sound a lot cooler than what it really is. Like a word like "Octagon", which really should be some kind of metallic octopus monster created by a mad scientist with dreams of world domination. Vaudevillian should be some kind of super villain with a long cape and a bowler hat (hopefully wearing a bit more than that, but I'll leave the rest up to your imagination). -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Twenty bucks went a lot further back in 2009.

Seriously, if Sofia had any old playbills she probably would've left them at Kimberly's place when she lived there. (or at Sydney's when she lived there, but nobody wants to get him involved in this) - Terrence

I was thinking of adding a line in to Sofia in the last panel along the lines of "And lets not talk about that apartment- it was your fault I ended up staying there!". Which would have been in relation to the story of how Sofia ended up living in that first apartment (it was the apartment Brisbane had let out when he was broken up from Kimberly- she took over his lease for him when Brisbane and Kimberly got back together- a small, dismal place with a water heater in the middle of the living room, or rather, the only room... unless you count the restroom). -Isabel

Modern Commentary
And more callbacks to the past. I mean, things are the way they are because of what happened previously. That's just causality. But sometimes it feels like we're giving folks a lot to keep track of. - Terrence

Original Commentary
In panel three, Kimberly's original line was "K- There are more things in life scarier than ghosts." This is, of course, in reference to Nina, the "other woman" if you will... a symbolism of a choice Brisbane must make between reality (Kimberly) and fantasy (Nina). However, after the drew the comic out, I asked Terrence if Kimberly knew of Nina and he said no. I was a bit miffed at him that he had not caught that when I first asked him to read the comic over, so I had to do a rewrite. Terrence said that perhaps Brisbane mentioned Nina to Kimberly. I didn't think Brisbane was THAT stupid. For more info on Nina, check out the new and improved Unlike Minerva archive. UM is celebrating it's ten year anniversary as well. - Isabel

Modern Commentary
Short summary is that Kimberly thinks the library is haunted. And there's a mysterious woman there who likes Brisbane but hides from everybody else, so maybe she's right. Everybody (including Brisbane) thinks that Kimberly is being ridiculous about this - Terrence

Terrence mentioned something interesting to me, Brisbane spent more of Unlike Minerva trying to get back onto the stage than he actually spent on stage. Looks like that hasn't changed much. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Kimberly negotiated a bit more because she's Kimberly. It's the principle of the matter. She didn't get what she wanted, but she got something at least.

The university is a bit further away, but Kimberly is central to a lot of the organizers' personal stories - Terrence

Original Commentary
I wonder what kind of web presence the various performers had. Back in the days of Unlike Minerva, Peter mentioned a webpage. Of course, the comics ran ten years ago, but the characters are only four years or so older (less sometimes). I suppose that means it'd be a myspace page instead of xoom or angelfire, if we kept things on a stricter timeline - Terrence

Modern Commentary
So what's the deal with Tall Hat Tom? Does he have an act or just a really tall hat? Is Kimberly the weird one since she doesn't get the act or are the Tall Hat Tom fans weird?

I don't know. Probably one of those things - Terrence
