Dan
Kimberly
Meeting
Angry

Original Commentary

I had the idea for this story arc for a while... I've been playing with the basics of it for a while, but didn't have a chance to do anything with it up till now.

The guys in the background, besides Dan, are no one special, probably just napkin representatives. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
This is a nice start! Kimberly is angry, dangerously so. Why? Keep reading to find out.

So much better than the "Brisbane and Kimberly are hanging out. Then the phone rings! Who could be calling them at 7 PM on a Tuesday night?" comics that I start these storylines with - Terrence

Dan
Brisbane
Worry
mail

Original Commentary

It's been a while since we've seen Brisbane deliver the mail. It is one of his jobs at Lemon Tech., although since the Troublesome Troubles, we haven't really seen Brisbane doing his real job. It's nice seeing him doing his every day job again... he seems rather content. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Brisbane is still mostly Ms. Taylor's assistant. Dude kinda fell into that role. He just also delivers mail in the meantime. - Terrence

Dan
Brisbane
Wrestling

Original Commentary

I had to go into the archives looking for the last time the main office's coffee/ copy room was (and now, mail room) was shown to see what color the floor was. I'm a little surprised I picked such a blah color for it- perhaps they used to have carpet, but someone spilled coffee on it, so they just removed it all together. Who knows, it's an older building after all.

So what do those abbreviations stand for? Tune in tomorrow to find out! -Isabel

Modern Commentary
One of the things about having an all-uppercase font is that you have to use periods in acronyms to make it clear that they're acronyms. In the script, HUW and ILW are just all caps.

But yes, we've been meaning to do something with Dan and Lola for a while and this is Isabel's yes-and to my silly little story about wrestling trademark continuity. - Terrence

Dan
Brisbane

Original Commentary

I added in the second part of Brisbane's line in panel two for a recap for clarity.

Terrence wasn't really sure if Lola would have a user name like HotMomma50... but really, how could she not? Her original username was going to be HotGramMamma50, so yeah, it could have been worse. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
And the two wrestling promotions have names now! HUW and ILW probably both changed names a couple times over the years, to spur interest, reflect changing priorities, and/or evade creditors. - Terrence

Dan
Brisbane
meeting
her mother's daughter

Original Commentary

The name, Adrian, was added in post-production. You shouldn't recognize it. It's somebody that Brisbane, Kimberly, and Dan know, but hasn't shown up in the comic (and probably won't) - Terrence

Modern Commentary
Brisbane's point is that it could've been worse if Kimberly were really mad. And after she found out that Steve got himself banned and this whole thing was unnecessary, she was really mad. - Terrence

Saturday, February 7th 2009 - [1399]Redecorating (6 of 14)
Dan
Brisbane

Original Commentary

I was trying to come up with a better screen name for Lola than HotMomma50. After a few minutes, I couldn't. I figure that if I couldn't come up with anything better, neither could Lola. It stays - Terrence

Modern Commentary
That's the thing about online names. Sometimes you come up with something clever that tells people who you are and what you're all about.

Sometimes you just pick something silly and you're stuck with it forever because that's how everyone knows you.

Lola's screen name, HotMomma50, is of course the first type. - Terrence

Original Commentary

I made a small mistake with this comic and the script- I had forgotten there was one more segment of Dan and Brisbane talking, so I was going to have Dan walking away in panel four. Unfortunately I didn't notice this until I was lettering it. I get extra stupid points on this because I was the one who wrote this arc.

However, looking at it now, you can only really tell he's walking away because I'm telling you... which means my failure was a success... I suppose. :|

Also, Brisbane had to be moved down in most of the panels... there are not too many people who are taller than him, but they are there and when they show up, it can be annoying- especially if I forget they are actually taller than him! -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Brisbane doesn't have a problem with Dan and Lola joining them on a double date. But hosting people at their apartment is a step too far. We're kinda the same way. We're not really configured for guests. - Terrence
