How anyone can not have food in their fridge like this is a mystery to me... even when our fridge is empty, we usually have enough to make something semi-decent. Hunger definitely makes Kimberly's instincts soften... and seems to sharpen Brisbane's. Funny thing, that hunger. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
There is no emotion to that "How very balanced" in panel 2. Brisbane said something at least a little novel and philosophical, but Kimberly hasn't had breakfast yet. Maybe after a meal, after a normal week she'd be up for their usual banter. But now, she just no-sells it. - Terrence
