Original Commentary
Terrence said it best to me.... "Brisbane is forever the optimist"... ok. I'm paraphrasing, but it was something like that. -Isabel
Modern Commentary
I don't blame Kimberly for being a bit wistful here. Imagine how different her life would have been if these two had actually gotten along like this back when she was younger. I mean, she doesn't want them to fight but it's sad that things couldn't always have been like this.
Imagine how her childhood would have been if - after the divorce - her parents could just *be normal*...
Not to spoil things, but it's not going to last. It never does with the Taylors

Original Commentary
So how does Brisbane know the sordid details of Mr. and Mrs/ Taylor's relationship? Let's just say the walls are very thin over at Lemon Tech.... that and Brisbane has to schedule her calendar. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what "Brunch with Clarence at 11:30" that didn't involve her actually leaving her office was all about.-Isabel Modern Commentary
Brisbane is right.
In the second panel, I mean. We'll see this again and again (and I'll probably mention it in commentary repeatedly) - they love each other but they can't stand each other. There is passion but no patience...

Original Commentary
Miz Taylor's dining room was kind of fun to draw... simple, yet classy. Unlike Miz Taylor at the moment, who has been taking in a little too much Thanksgiving spirit, if you know what I mean.-Isabel
Modern Commentary
The nice thing about opening with the end of an anecdote or the punchline of a joke is that you don't need to figure out the set-up.
I have no idea what the context of Sofia's lapel might have been. I'm not sure Ms. Taylor does either. But she's a cheery audience at the moment, regardless.
- Terrence Thursday, November 22nd 2007 - [1016]Thanksgiving with the Taylors (10 of 12)
Original Commentary
Terrence made a comment about how it was nice to see Mr. Taylor exerting his influence over Ms. Taylor. Indeed it is... indeed it is... Patrick is the man Miz Taylor is referring to... why would she want to hook her "fan service man" up with Brisbane's little sister? Keeping it in the family? I have no idea... she has her reasons, whatever they are. Quite possibility because she can see Patrick's great mind beyond his good looks and wants to make sure he has a strong allegiance to the company that gave him his main squeeze.
The tiny text in Mr. Taylor's panel is "Behave or no cookies and pudding tonight". Take out of that what you will. -Isabel Modern Commentary
"Cookies and pudding" is a euphemism for sex that has shown up in all of our comics from time to time.
I mean, anything can be a euphemism for sex if you say it right.

Original Commentary
Burr is, of course, the sound that Brent makes. It's kind of an angry purring sound. When Sofia doesn't dote over him, he sounds even angrier. I'm sure Ms. Taylor is trying for the mother-daughter experience and since Kimberly isn't really receptive to that, she's moved on to Sofia - Isabel
Modern Commentary
"A Brent Bag?", you say, "But Brent is the name of that specific brant, not the name of his species. She should call it a brant bag"
We hadn't named brants at this point and wouldn't for another eight months.
- Terrence Sunday, November 25th 2007 - [1018]Thanksgiving with the Taylors (12 of 12)
Original Commentary
This is Brisbane's room. Kimberly and Brisbane have different sheets - she has the blue plaid ones. He has the grey. They don't usually sleep separately, so they use whichever room they feel like. This time, they're in Brisbane's room, because Kimberly's sheets are more difficult to color - Terrence Modern Commentary
It's great that they behaved themselves but it kinda sucks that Brisbane and Kimberly were on edge for the entire dinner, wondering when it was going to go bad.
