Original Commentary

Kimberly got quite a makeover in panel three... originally, her eyes were closed and her mouth was large (and if angry). Her line in that panel was also along the lines of "No -mine!!". After drawing the comic, I felt that her originally facial expression was a bit too childish and thus this one face was digitally added. After changing the face, I was still having trouble... I came to realize that her line was a bit too childish as well. The changes in her line make her sound just as frugal, but more her style -Isabel

Modern Commentary
I'm glad Kimberly has Brisbane, but I'm also glad that Brisbane has Kimberly.

Brisbane is a people person. Kimberly helps keep his more outlandish ideas in check. They're not paid nearly enough to fund the company's holiday bonuses. - Terrence

Original Commentary

Kimberly's mother is looking rather strange in pink... she doesn't seem the type to wear it, but there you go...

It was my intention to make Brisbane look determined, yet scared out of his mind... I hope it came out well. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
I love the line "I challenge you to a shareholder meeting". Brisbane has no idea what he's doing or how to do it, but he charges forward anyhow - Terrence

Original Commentary

Ended up making very small changes to the script, just to help the word flow, no one (including Terrence who wrote this arc) will really notice. I really like how this one came out, although I should have shown Brisbane turning in the first panel... these "person to desk talking to person standing up" can get really redundant if the conversation goes on for too many comics... but sometimes it cannot be helped. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Ms Taylor knows the rules. She wrote the rules. She also gets to decide exactly what the rules mean. She's not somebody you should challenge regarding company governance unless you're very sure of what you're doing.

I love her grin in the second panel. She has outmaneuvered Brisbane and this is the happiest she's been in weeks - Terrence

Technicality

Original Commentary

Once again, made some small changes...moved Brisbane's last line from the third panel and into the second (where there was more room overall).

Here is a simple tip to help those of you who can't tell which comics are written by Terrence or myself... if the comics get really technical and office politicisous, then Terrence wrote it... while if there are made up words in it, I probably did it. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Was there really an infrastructure upgrade? There's always something that could use upgrading or replacing.

And if Brisbane was going to make this personal, then Ms Taylor is going to return the favor - Terrence

Original Commentary

If there were some easy word for "guy who's living with my daughter", that would be the name of Brisbane's department. The old me would've spent another panel or two establishing that there is indeed nobody else in the department before having Brisbane blindly make that assumption, but he's right. It's kind of the Department of Making Sure Brisbane Doesn't Get a Bonus. Ms. Taylor is known for many things and playing fair isn't one of them - Terrence

Modern Commentary
Regarding the previous commentary, Ms Taylor is playing fair. She just isn't playing nice. - Terrence

Original Commentary

Originally the letter read Brisbane's department as "the gofer department". This was because this was Terrence's original name for it- which was in the script text file for yesterday's comic. This comic had brackets instead of any words at all for the department's title. Since Terrence lettered the comic for Friday, I did not know he made the change, so I simply copied and pasted the text from the older script's text file. I'm glad I asked Terrence to read over the comic twice, otherwise I would not have found the problem. Meh, good riddance, 2006. -Isabel

So, is this a win for Brisbane or a clever ploy by Ms. Taylor to cut bonuses in half? You decide. -Terrence

Modern Commentary
Panels 4-6 are a few days later. Getting all the checks sent out, especially at the end of the year, is going to take a little while. - Terrence
