Original Commentary
Carbolic acid is the main ingredient in some of the first disinfectants. I spent a decent amount of time researching the active ingredients in things like pine-sol (pine oil), Lysol (alcohol), and a few other such things. I'm still not entirely sure it's the right thing you'd use to mop floors with, but it's plausible enough. -Terrence
Modern Commentary
My initial notes for Dan were "this is where he turns from trusted advisor to scheming advisor". This is as close as he gets. Generally with these larger storylines, I make an outline and a checklist try to work things in, but it goes where it goes. I try to wrestle and wrangle it into the shape I had initially envisioned but sometimes conversations turn unexpectedly.
