Original Commentary

In the original version, Kimberly took off her jacket after the guy from the warehouse arrived. Then Brisbane got offended and territorial, in a way that was rather unlike him. He was upset that Kimberly would take off her jacket with another guy around. The overall effect was kinda sweet in a dorky neanderthal kind of way. It really wasn't Brisbane, though. This whole bit was inspired by one of the recent ND Chats, and Isabel talking about how Brisbane wouldn't let Kimberly wear a bikini to the beach - Terrence

Also, originally Kimberly used the word "more" in the fourth panel when referring to her clothing at the beach. At the time I was honestly not sure if this was a typo or one of those sayings that I'm too dense to not know (such as "Dirty Pool", which I had once thought as one heck of a weird typo). But, no, it was just that- a typo. So now Kimberly can run around in her two piece and not a parka at the beach, and only Brisbane will suffer from it. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
They ordered something quick and cheap because they've got a full schedule and they're paying for it themselves.

Maybe they'll talk to the accounting department later, but probably not.

Anyhow, I like this joke. It's one of my favorites, especially since you don't need context to understand it. A lot of my stuff is funnier if you know who all the folks are, which is less optimal in the new, faster world of social media- Terrence
