Original Commentary
Terrence and I ended up writing this together... somewhat. Terrence wrote a bit of the beginning and the middle... I added to the beginning and added an ending. This seems to be the way we work- he's a middle man and I'm a start and finisher. I wonder what that says about us.-Isabel
Modern Commentary
Yeah, Brisbane and Kimberly ought to have more hobbies or a collection or something.
We try to round out our characters and give them off-screen enrichment activities. But we also don't want to introduce a bunch of stuff that ends up not being relevant...

Original Commentary
I made a small alteration to this comic... originally Brisbane only acknowledged that Robert said he that Brisbane was his best friend, but did not reciprocate those feelings. In this version he more or less does. I'm sure the situation left Brisbane as flustered as he could be (with anyone who was not Kimberly, I mean). -Isabel Modern Commentary
You know Brisbane made that coffee

And thus it goes full circle. When I came up with the idea for this arc, it didn't occur to me that we'd have to figure out what the characters would actually give each other as a result of all this. Well, they'll figure something out - Terrence
Modern Commentary
That's why Brisbane was so hesitant in the last comic.
It's not that he doesn't consider Robert a friend. It's that now he needs to get Robert a gift also. An obligation has been created.
It's good to get gifts, and it's good to give gifts. But it's hard to give good gifts sometimes.
