Original Commentary
Poor Brisbane, thinking Kimberly wanting him for his hot bod. XD I was thinking of having her laugh in the first panel, but thought against, as the moment was a bit more serious than that- although it was rather tempting.
Brisbane, mature or not, has always been known for his knack of overanalyzing a situation and assuming the worst of the women around him. Now we know just why, and of Kimberly's redeeming qualities.
Modern Commentary
There are a lot of great things about working with Isabel. One of them is how she pulled Brisbane and Kimberly's past together and made this a pivot for how Brisbane sees Kimberly.
It all comes together.
We didn't initially plan on this moment being here, but I don't think there would have been a better place.
And it's official. Brisbane said it first.

...and now we know ALOT more about Kimberly. Kimberly was never really close with anyone in her family, but seems to have a need to have her father in her life (he was the lesser of three evils for her while growing up). For those of you who were at last weeks' ND.net live chat (all three of you) now can see where I was trying not to give too much away when talking about what makes Kimberly tick. And, more importantly, a little more how she herself perceives the males in her life before Brisbane.
For some reason there was a period in the middle of a sentence in Kimberly's panel 3 line. Not sure how it got there, but it's gone now (thus making the comic make a little more sense). -Isabel Modern Commentary
I don't have much to add. Kimberly's parents' relationship is expanded upon greatly in the next few years of the comic. - Terrence Friday, September 22nd 2006 - [681]Good Morning (9 of 12)

...and now we know a lot more about Kimberly and how and why she likes Brisbane: he's boring, stable and for the most part reliable (not counting the time they broke up...but ignoring that...). We also know quite a bit about what makes her tick. I really don't know how much more I can really add to this comic other than it was a long time coming. -Isabel

And she loves him too, which works out nicely
As you may know, the comic ends with a panel of "I love you" and "I love you too" and it's ambiguous who said what. And I thought it would be cool if it were always a mystery who actually said it first.
Then I remember that they had been married for several years at that point and the comic has kinda overtaken its title.
