Kimberly
Brisbane
Uh-oh

Original Commentary
All this between Brisbane and Emily supposedly happened back in Unlike Minerva, You Say it First's prequel, in an arc entitled 'Emily'. Emily wasn't as monstrous back then as she is now, but I'm sure she was keeping notes, just in case she turned into one.

Modern Commentary
I mean, she just moved in with this guy. Put him on the official lease and everything, and now she finds out about this just a week or two later. Living together is difficult and requires work and tough conversations.- Terrence

Kimberly
Brisbane

Original Commentary
So if neither Kimberly nor Brisbane really like Emily, why does she keep hanging around them...? She's dense.

Modern Commentary
It's not the "went out for coffee with Emily". It's the "went out for coffee with Emily and kept it a secret". - Terrence

Kimberly
Brisbane
Hug

Original Commentary
The best part of a fight is the making up... and those two have a lot of making up to do.

Modern Commentary
Are they going to have a long talk and properly define their relationship and where they stand with each other?
No. The comic is literally called "You Say it First" and we're in year 1 of 9. Sorry, folks. They do go somewhere, but we're not getting there any time quick.- Terrence

Hug

Original Commentary
What a girl like Kimberly sees in a guy like Brisbane.

Modern Commentary
Dude is resilient and upbeat. It's easy to be positive when you're good at things and life is treating you well. That resilience and perseverance will get them through a lot in the next few years of this comic. - Terrence

Friday, September 3rd 2004 - [84]An early morning jog (15 of 15)
Kimberly
Brisbane

Original Commentary
Sometimes, it's easier to leave things as they are.

Modern Commentary
Say it, Kimberly. Say it!
Ok, that's not going to happen just right now. Especially after the morning they both had. We get there slowly.

"Not having a computer" was more of a thing in 2004 than it is in 2022. I mean, this is an online comic so we assume that our entire readership has a computer (or tablet or other such web-accessing device). - Terrence
