Note that Brisbane only had that one half-full box of stuff. He probably didn't unpack it.
Brisbane wore an ascot in Unlike Minerva for a few reasons. I wanted him to have a distinct visual cue since the comic had several dozen different artists. Syd Barrett, the original frontman of Pink Floyd, looked very impressive in one (but Brisbane never quite had the same rakish air). And nobody else in comics was wearing one, so it helped him stand out.
But this isn't Unlike Minerva. This is a new comic where things are different. He takes it off because of the move and, sixteen comics later, he puts on a necktie because he has a real job and needs to function in the real world. - Terrence
