Terrence didn't mention what kind of smile Patrick had on his face, but he told me I pretty much got it spot on... which is actually a little scary. -Isabel

Just a little. I mean, I've shown a variety of characters waking up next to each other in different circumstances, but I think that spider-to-the-fly smile is the most adult thing to show up in the comic - Terrence

Note that Patrick is playing Minesweeper in the third panel. The options for mobile games were limited in 2009; he doesn't strike me as an Angry Birds kinda guy.

Also, I love that middle panel. That is SO Patrick. He's a rival to Brisbane - not for Kimberly, but for corporate status. But if Kimberly were to suddenly become dissatisfied with Brisbane, he may try something. - Terrence
