Original Commentary

I bet Kimberly wishes she was wearing something a little fancier... XD Ah well, things never quite work out how we expect them.

I originally had Brisbane's line about the money Kimberly got from her dad as "..gave us money...", but I rewrote it so it sounded less "this money is half ours, Kimberly!" and more "this money is for our life together". Thus, he's making it seem less like an order and more like an idea. After I scrapped the "us" line I was going to have him say "...gave you the money" but that kind of left things a bit wide open for Kimberly to stake claim to all the money and not share which is not a good way to think in such long term relationships

I also wanted Kimberly to be overly choosy with her words, thus showing her desire to want to work things out with Brisbane. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
What the previous arc really changed is how Brisbane sees himself. He's not just a failed comedian in a dead-end job who ought to be homeless by all rights. He's not just a man-child who's buffeted helplessly about by fate.

Now he's got agency. He can successfully do things. He believes in himself and, more importantly, he believes that someone else could believe in him. - Terrence
