  • Who does what around here?

    • While with Unlike Minerva the writing was mostly done by Terrence Marks (with occasional scripts by Isabel Marks), You Say it First is written equally by both Terrence and Isabel. For the most part, each chapter is written by one of them with tweaking help by the other.  Try and guess which arc is written by who! Although sometimes they write a story together.

    All the drawing and inking work are done by Isabel Marks (with occasional coloring help by Terrence).
     

  • How is the story's time-line progressing? Does the comic run in real time? *new*

    • The story of Unlike Minerva took place within the space of a year.  You Say it First is currently on it's second year and is also not moving in real time.
     
  • Is You Say it First the sequel to Unlike Minerva?

    • Yes, You Say it First starts off shortly after Unlike Minerva ends.
     
  • Will You Say it First ever be drawn by other artists?

    • The only comics in the YSiF archive drawn by other artists will be guest strips, or comics drawn by Terrence, although either will be very unlikely.
     
  • How did Brisbane and Kimberly meet? *updated*

    • For the long explanation, please read Unlike Minerva.

    For the short explanation... Brisbane was an out of luck Vaudeville performer at the Minerva Theater while Kimberly worked a booth there that sold just about everything.  The two aggravated each other while Kimberly flirted with Brisbane and took his money.  The two spent the past seven years of real time (or three years or so in comic time) trying to figure out just how the other feels about them.
     

  • Are Kimberly and Brisbane sleeping together?*updated*

    • Your guess is as good as ours.  But according to recent story arcs, no. 
     
  • Will any of the other characters from Unlike Minerva come back?*updated*

    • As of 2006, Sofia Adams, Emily Pritchard and Richard and Sinclair are back from Unlike Minerva.  Stay turned to see if more characters from the past come back.
     
  • Why soapylemon.com?*updated*

    • Because a few years back Isabel thought it would make for a really cool .com and the name of a comic.  There is actually a comic by the name of Soapy Lemon that is currently in the works by Terrence Marks, but with all of their side projects, they are not sure when it will be finished. 

    The only connection YSiF has with the term 'Soapy Lemon' is the name of Kimberly's mother's company: Lemon Technologies.

  • Why is the comic called You Say it First? *updated*

    •  Just use your imagination. Although the "it" has already been brought to light.
     
  • Is the comic still set on Hippedown Island? *updated*

    • Isabel- Yes.
    Terrence- Maybe...

    We'll get back to you on that one...take out of that what you can. Although if it is the same Island as the first comic, it is not set in the original story line as set up in years past (where Brisbane and Kimberly's world is not our own).
     

  • What's that thing that Brisbane wears? 

    • Terrence- It's an ascot.  As worn by Fred from Scooby Doo and various uniformed schoolgirls.  And American sailors during the second World War.  It was rather fashionable in England in the late 1960s. 

    Isabel- Although sometimes it's supposed to be a tie that turns into an ascot. Oops.
